Autism and Ageing

Did you know that many autistic adults are more likely to experience early-onset dementia, higher rates of chronic health conditions such as epilepsy and heart disease, and increased social isolation as they grow older?

Despite these serious concerns, research and services dedicated to ageing in autism remain extremely limited. This highlights a critical gap — and a generation at risk of being left behind.

It’s time to address autism across the entire lifespan, ensuring that every individual has the opportunity to age with dignity, support, and appropriate care. Raising awareness is the first step toward lasting change!
